There is great sadness and mourning throughout the entertainment community and the general public alike with the passing away of Patrick Swayze. He captivated us with his sexy looks and blew us away with his dancing. Who could watch the movie “Dirty Dancing” and not be mesmerized by his on-screen charisma?
Phoebe had a close encounter with Mr. Swayze when she was an extra on the movie, “Next of Kin,” which was shot in Chicago. Due to her lack of skills with cosmetics, she was sent to the make-up trailer twice and both times Patrick Swayze was there, too. OMG, he was even better looking in person than on-screen! Drawings of the earrings and vintage hat Phoebe wore are below. You can see her hat and earrings bobbing to the beat of B.B. King and his band if you look real close at the scene in the bar.
Due to an accident during a fight scene, the make-up artists were trying to cover up some nasty bruises to his face. He said “the show must go on,” took some aspirin and went back to the set. Yes, he conversated with Phoebe in the make-up trailer! He was so kind to everyone and if you decide to see “Next of Kin” please do so, unless you’re afraid of snakes.
There are people in the public eye who face adversity in a courageous and inspiring way. Patrick Swayze was such a person. He will be missed.
