The Future of Fashion's Ecology: Wear & Re-Wear, Recycle and Upcycle, New Uses for Old Materials

The “Greening” of Fashion is slowly but certainly gaining a toehold in the hearts and minds of both designers and consumers.  Considering that we each discard over 60 lbs. of clothing each year, there is a lot of room and material to think about and work with.  From simple (and maybe impractical) ideas about wearing the same outfit for a month to reworking materials such as drapery and upholstery fabrics, innovative designers are stitching together new ways of dressing.
