Amelia Earhart and the Leather Bomber Jacket

The leather bomber jacket was made famous by Amelia Earhart and has been a fashion staple since the 1930s. Hilary Swank (above) plays Earhart wearing said jacket in the new movie, "Amelia." Like her contemporary, Bessie Coleman, she wore the pants in the cockpit! (We're not making a joke here people.) Back in July we noted that Coleman was the inspiration for Hermes this year. Aviatrix-inspired clothes should be flying off the shelves (pun intended) this fall and winter.

Men! Don't Get Caught With Your Pants Down!

As our very own Barbara Glass points out in this Chicago Sun-Times article, summertime doesn't mean that men can throw on just any old thing on and call it a day! Well, at least not in the office. The summer of 2009 is a perfect opportunity for guys to mix it up by combining a leather jacket with Khaki pants (especially if the AC is on full blast in your office) or a Bermuda short (NOT HOT PANTS!) of an appropriate knee-grazing length with either a sporty blazer or a proper shirt (not a sloppy-looking stained t-shirt). If you're able to carry off a kilt, good for you. Even better air circulation.
