Fashion-conscious Pope Benedict XVI walks in the garden of his summer residence in Castel Gandolfo on Sunday. As we can tell by the hat he is wearing, baseball is now an official religion.

Leo Durocher are all celebrating in heaven as we blog. Phoebe met Theodore Roosevelt "Double Duty" Radcliffe in Chicago at a birthday party when he was in his nineties.

phoebe...did you know that the movement to overthrow Batista(Cuba) was called the July 26th movement(bc of the 7/26/53 attack on the police barracks(Moncada)in Santiago de Cuba led by Fidel Castro(for which he was incarcerated a year until one of the Pope's underlings, the head of the Catholic School Fidel attended) asked Batista to forgive him on behalf of Fidel's family. My recently deceased father was the political officer for the July 26th movement in NYC in 1958 before joining the Castro government(which he later fought to overthrow).
